Frequently asked questions

How do I reach Atelier Souriant?
Accessible by local and/or TGV train, with the Eurostar, by plane, to Toulouse airport and by car, through the eurotunnel, our village Najac, is easy to reach! We’ll gladly collect you from Najac station and drop you off afterward.
Here is a useful website for train timetables: SNCF
Can I bring my dog?
We’re sorry, but dogs are not allowed, even though we know how adorable they can be!
Should I bring my own drawing and painting material?
You don’t need to bring your own art supplies – everything is provided, and we use good-quality materials. Most mediums are available to work with, except for oil paints, as, we believe, they take too long to dry for our painting week. If you have any specific material requests, feel free to let us know!
What is the age range of the guests participating?
We warmly welcome all guests from 18 years old and up! We don’t inquire about age ahead of time, as we believe the most important thing is the shared desire to explore painting and drawing in a tranquil, natural setting with a welcoming group. In previous groups, our youngest guest was 25 and the oldest was 83.
Which language will be spoken during the creative weeks?
Depending on the guests’ nationality, either English and/or Dutch will be spoken. Anita and Tjarco are fluent in both languages.
Do I have to share a room or bathroom with another guest I don’t know?
Our rooms, cottages, and tents all feature private bathrooms with a shower and toilet. Shared accommodations are only for those travelling together. Solo travellers will have their own private space with a bathroom.
I have a gluten-free diet. Will that be taken into consideration?
The creative week is above all a holiday, and we believe that holidays are all about feeling good. We want you to feel comfortable, and that includes enjoying your food. If you have any dietary preferences, just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure to take them into account when planning the menu.
Will there be a chance to swim during the creative week?
On sunny days, we love swimming in natural water instead of a pool. From La Forêt Souriante, you’re just 5 to 15 minutes by car, or a 45-minute lovely walk away from a beautiful river spot. We also think a pool isn’t the best for the environment when there are eco-friendly alternatives. Don’t forget your swimsuit – we’ll definitely enjoy a swim in nature when the weather’s nice!
